8. DEFAULTS
If a team is absent for a fixture without giving proper notice the opposition shall be awarded the game with full points.
Defaults are taken seriously as this is not fair on the opposition, Referee or on-field Coordinator.
If your team is going to default a game, you must give TAURANGA INDOOR SPORTS at least 24 hours’ notice.
A full match fee will be imposed on teams that do not give sufficient, or any, notice for defaulting, including the umpires fee. The decision to impose the full match fee and umpire fee is at the discretion of TAURANGA INDOOR SPORTS.
If your team is short of players, TAURANGA INDOOR SPORTS recommends your team show up for a friendly game regardless of your team numbers. The Module Co-ordinator/Referee will try to help find fill-ins. No team likes showing up to find they have travelled to the game to find no game at all, please be considerate.
TAURANGA INDOOR SPORTS recommends posting on our “fill ins” page on Facebook if you are short and need extras. This can be found at this Facebook link or by requesting an invite by our manager.
A Netball team will be considered to have defaulted should they not field a team within the first eight-minute period of the game. For every minute that a team is late, two points will be awarded against that team to a maximum of 16 points.
A Cricket team will be considered to have defaulted should they not field a team within the first 10 minutes of the game.
